Tonality for the Win

Playing the TwinNote note and interval identification game (on the practice page) was not always that musically pleasing…  until now.  When playing on the “all notes” setting (naturals, sharps, and flats) the notes used to be selected at random from the set of all twelve notes of the chromatic scale.  Needless to say, the result would sound quite atonal. New Version of the TwinNote Note and Interval Identification Game

On the practice page you will find a new version of the note and interval identification game.  In the previous version it would only show one note or interval at a time (like flash cards), but now it can show as many as ten notes or intervals at a time. The default is four at a time, but you can customize how many are shown at once, including one at a time like before.  Continue reading

New TwinNote Note Head Font

While working on LilyPond Templates for TwinNote I revised the note head shapes to make them more aesthetically pleasing and easier to read.  Here is a “close-up” illustration comparing the previous straight triangle shapes (top), the new rounded triangle shapes (middle), and traditional oval notes (bottom).
